New Design: The Far Side of Complexity
Lisa at The Far Side of Complexity was so sweet and great to work with. She wanted to update her Blogger blog from a standard template to a custom design.
I love the calm simplicity of this design!
She said…
My grandparents used to have a little metal statue of a penny-farthing bicycle on display in the living room of their Burbank, CA home. In fact, in a house that was filled with art and souvenirs from around the globe, I would say with certainty that that was my favorite piece. It intrigued me. It reminded of a time when life was slower and perhaps a little simpler.
And so came the inspiration for my new blog look, which was created by Jen over at Blue Yonder Design. She did a great job listening to my ideas and turning them into a reality. When I saw the final design I literally squealed with delight (ask Donald, he was here). I hope you love it too….
Thanks Jen!
New Design: Run Strong, Finish Well
Phil at Run Strong, Finish Well contacted me about starting a blog a month ago. He is writing a book and wanted to set up a Wordpress site that would grow with him.
I love this header with the runners going toward heaven. Let us run with patience…
P.S. Phil’s daughter had this great wood plaque made from my logo. Isn’t it great?!?

new design: Hope in a Boy’s World
A year or so ago I designed Hope Has a Voice. Just recently she decided she wanted to change the name to Hope in a Boy’s World and do a complete redesign.
As always, she was fun to work with and I love this cute new design!
redesign: Coffee Thoughts
Karenne over at Coffee Time Romance & More is so fun to work with and I was excited to redesign their blog once again. We have redesigned the blog a few times to keep things fresh and interesting for their readers. This time we moved to a 3-column blog, added new graphics and fun features including author’s pages, Linkwithin and Sexy Bookmarks.
redesign: Penelope’s Pitstop
I love working with Penny, so I was really excited when she contacted me and wanted to move from Blogger to WordPress a few months ago. We kept her basic design, but added a bunch of new features as well as an entirely new design for her Reviews page.
She always has the coolest items on her blog and does amazing giveaways all the time. Be sure to check them out at http://www.penelopespitstop.net/
From Penny:
It is amazing to me that every time Jen touches my blog she makes it bigger and better. I recently wanted to expand Penelope’s Pitstop, which Jen originally designed, to accomodate Product Reviews and Giveaways and allow it to have a more professional look. Jen moved me over to Wordpress and it turned Penelope’s Pitstop upside down. I absolutely love what she has done to my site. I receive comments on a daily basis from perfect strangers telling me just how cute my site is. Once again, she turned my rambling thoughts into everything I wanted and more. As I have worked with Jen over the past couple years, I have grown to love her work AND her. I love that she allows me to “mess” with and sometimes mess up my site. Slowly but surely I am learning to manage my site via Wordpress, but she is always there to patiently back me up and give me the support I need to make my blog a success. Penelope’s Pitstop has been successful in a large part due to the image it portrays…the look that Jen has given it has made Penelope’s Pitstop what it is today. Thank you so so much, Jen!
new design: Never True Tales
Amy at Never-True Tales was fun to work with. She had a great picture with a superhero feel that I edited to black and white with just the cape accented in red to stand out. We kept the design clean and simple so it could be easily organized and easy to read.
From Amy’s blog:
How do you like the new digs?!
The place is looking pretty good, isn’t it? I’ve spent the last few days working hard with the very talented Jen at Blue Yonder Design…or rather, she’s been working hard, and I’ve been emailing her comments like, ‘Could the blue be a bit more blue-y?’, and other helpful things like that. She could never have done it without m :).
new design: Not Quite What I Had Planned
Kristie at Not Quite What I Had Planned had years and years of blog posts and pictures that were scheduled for deletion. We are talking thousands of posts, pictures and comments. Not wanting to lose all her posts and memories, she emailed me and we set her up with a new WordPress site, imported her old posts and moved over all of her pictures.
A few days after we had everything set up, her old picture storage was deleted. Thanks goodness we were able to do this for her so she didn’t lose anything… and she got a cute new design as well :)
new design: Confessions of an Heiress
I had a great time creating a new design for Amy at Confessions of an Heiress. She was wonderful to work with and I love how the site turned out, very fresh and “heavenly: :)
What Amy had to say:
Oh my goodness, Jen, I LOVE it!! And the verse is perfect!
I really, really love it. Thank you so much! I’m so delinquent when it comes to web design of any sort – - that I am in awe! I didn’t have any pre-conceived notions of what I wanted it to look like (other than NOT the way it was!)……and I am amazed that you designed it to fit so perfectly with my personality!
Thanks so much! I will definitely recommend you to others!
Thanks – I think you could be one of my new bff’s! :)
redesign: Lily’s Life is Great
Another move from Blogger to Wordpress. Lily’s Life is Great needed a bit more than Blogger had to offer so we migrated the site over to Wordpress and set up multiple pages, a blog and an online store.
I was even able to design Lily’s Life is Great tshirts for her to sell in her online store. Go check them out…

redesign: OutDoor Afro
A few months ago I designed a Blogger site for OutDoor Afro. Since then, she has decided to move over to Wordpress to get more out of her site.
We set her up with hosting, moved over all the old posts and changed a few colors and features of the site to give it a fresh look without losing the original fun design.
OutDoor Afro is one of many sites that I have recently switched over to WordPress. If you are thinking that you want to upgrade your current blog, consider WordPress.org as your new blogging platform. With plugins galore, the possibilities for what you can do with your site are virtually limitless.
